Turku University of Applied Science organized a hackathon at Miyagi University

A delegation of Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS) and Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) visited Sendai and organized a hackathon at Miyagi University.

Prior to the event, FWBC gave a lecture about “The Role of ICT in Health & Wellbeing Services in Japan”, and mixed groups of Finnish and Japanese students discussed to solve tasks from companies for three days. Challenges vary from requesting solution for an emotional robot to death planner, and student teams came up with ideas from teammates with different background for presentation on the final day.

All final outcomes were very interesting and students were to report to each company provided the task. This event is collaborative with TUAS, TAMK, Miyagi University and Sendai Kosen. Similar event has been planned in Turku and final event will be organized in Sendai in May 2019.

Some of participants visited FWBC facilities during the schedule for discussing further cooperation and information sharing.
